ATP 250 is a professional men's tennis tournament category held in 30 countries worldwide. It includes 40 tournaments, winning in any of which brings a tennis player 250 points in the ATP ranking. The prize money of the ATP 250 Almaty Open will amount to more than $1 million.

The first annual ATP 250 series tournament was held in Astana in 2020. In 2022, the level of the event was upgraded to ATP 500 on a one-time basis, where a truly stellar lineup of players (world's TOP 10) gathered, including Novak Djokovic, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Daniil Medvedev, Carlos Alcaraz, Hubert Hurkacz, Andrey Rublev and others.
